Ford Models Ashley Graham could soon be recognized as The Greatest Plus Size Model Ever. The 26 year-old Nebraska native has continuously accomplished game-changing moves throughout her ongoing 14 year career that has drawn worldwide attention to the platform of Plus-Size modeling that has never been done before.

Graham has become the first plus size model to ever feature in an issue of Sports Illustrated magazine. The former Lane Bryant spokesmodel features in a beautiful new campaign for swimwear brand Swimsuits For All (swimsuitsforall), which was unveiled Wednesday as the first ever plus size ad to have been selected to grace the pages of the publication’s iconic Swimsuit Issue. Graham stars in the swimwear brand’s new ‘Curves in Bikinis’ campaign. Graham told Daily Mail about the excitement and empowering movement within the Plus Size culture and Swimsuitsforall “Curves In Bikinis” campaign spear heading a new sensation to the forefront of society.

“I know my curves are sexy and I want everyone else to know that theirs are too,” the size 16 Ford model said of her ground-breaking campaign.
“There is no reason to hide and every reason to flaunt. The world is ready for more curves in bikinis. ‘swimsuitsforall helps women feel confident and sexy in swimsuits and I am so thrilled to be a part of the Curves in Bikinis campaign!’

The owner of ‘swimsuitsforall’ Moshe Laniado made a statement upon the ads release about the importance of the ‘curvesinbikini’ campaign, saying, “Tastes and body types change over time and curves have never been more “in… There is no better way to celebrate and show off than by donning a bikini. When the Curves in Bikinis ad in Sports Illustrated is released, the world will be watching and they’ll like what they see.”




While Graham will be featured in Sports Illustrated, she is making a debut not as an official swimsuit model but as the first plus size model to grace the pages of the publication ever. Normally, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition features selected feature models classified as “SI Rookies” and “SI Models”.

Alongside the print campaign, the brand have also launched a risque video ad, which sees a bikini-clad Ashley strolling along the beach, capturing the attention of some overwhelmed male admirers in the process. The saucy ad ends with the brunette model flinging her bikini top into a nearby swimming pool, while flashing a cheeky smile at the camera. See the visual campaign below:

Brief history on Graham, began modeling at 12, after a short stint with Wilhelmina, she signed with current agency Ford in 2003. Graham is most recognized for her controversial ultra sexy 2012 Lane Bryant campaign. The Full Figured Fashion Week’s Model of the Year currently on the cover of The Edit, her first cover of 2015. Following Sports Illustrated, Graham is set to be the new face of the Spring 2015 Addition Elle campaign.

While Graham isn’t official inducted into the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit alum, the ad has generated a influential suggestion for an official debut plus size model. Sports Illustrated has been receiving a lot of protest from the plus size modeling community lately through motivational campaigns from various plus size models to entertain the long overdue arrival of Plus Size features inside the iconic publication. A Plus Size cover model would be ground-breaking on a global scale.
